Back in 2012, during a mission trip to India, we had the pleasure of meeting Dani through a shared mentor. Right from the start, it was clear that Dani is not just any leader; he’s a passionate teacher, deeply committed to God and his community. Despite facing significant opposition and adversity, Dani has dedicated his life to pioneering church planting initiatives across India, training thousands of missionaries, and serving as a professor of theology and mission. He is often found advising local church leaders and staff through difficult seasons. His pioneering work and faithful team in Kerala exemplifies a strategic approach to spreading the gospel with a training center that serves as a catalyst for movement throughout the country.

Kerala: A Land of Opportunity

Nestled on the southwestern coast of India, Kerala is famously known as “God’s Own Country.” This stunning state is adorned with lush landscapes, serene backwaters, and vibrant cultures, making it a visual feast for the senses. Over the past two decades, Kerala has also seen a significant influx of migrant workers from northern India, drawn to its thriving industries—from tea and rubber plantations to pineapple groves—where they can earn more than in their home states. This migration has positioned Kerala as a key trade hub and vacation destination in South India.

However, the journey isn’t all smooth sailing. The political landscape here is fraught with challenges, including unrest, persecution, and corruption. Despite these hurdles, Kerala boasts a rich Christian heritage, believed to be one of the first regions visited by Saint Thomas two millennia ago. This historical significance makes the church’s mission here not only vital and safer, but also deeply rooted in tradition.

The Vision for a Training Center

To address the challenges faced by church planters and leaders in this vibrant yet volatile environment, Dani has spearheaded the establishment of a dedicated training center in Kerala. This sanctuary is designed to be a hub for new believers, disciples, leaders, church planters, missionaries, and pastors. Here, they can receive the support, training, and revitalization they need before returning to their communities.

Just as a well-tended garden flourishes, this training center embodies the beauty and rejuvenation found in Kerala’s landscapes. Perched atop a scenic mountain vista, it offers a peaceful retreat for those engaged in the hard work of spreading the gospel or visiting from afar. 

Self-Sustaining and Impactful

The center is crafted to be self-sustaining as much as possible, generating its own revenue through various initiatives, including the production and sale of garments specifically designed for migrant workers. This model not only ensures financial sustainability but also integrates economic activity with outreach efforts, making it a multifaceted mission platform. Financial support is sparse however, especially in the current construction and growth phases. 

Visitors to the training center will be welcomed into a space brimming with love and encouragement. Here, they can immerse themselves in high-quality training while collaborating closely with indigenous partners. This supportive environment empowers them to return to their communities equipped to make a significant impact.

Holistic Training Approach

Grounded in Scripture, the training center employs the “Four Fields” method of church planting and discipleship that Dani introduced during our time in Varanasi. This approach reflects the movements and methods of Jesus, enabling leaders to apply these timeless scriptural principles in their own contexts and developing their own theologically adept strategies. Additionally, the center will host the “Christian Training Network” (CTN), offering online and hybrid Bible college and seminary programs to equip planters and pastors with theological conviction, missiological confidence and practical leadership development skills.

We believe in developing the core of every disciple and leader through a holistic approach that encompasses intellectual, emotional, personal, and spiritual growth. This is where the magic happens! Each individual will identify their strengths and growth areas while acquiring valuable skills to thrive in their mission field.
