A Vision for Church Planting and Discipleship Training

Lakony Boniface, or simply Bonnie, is a remarkable leader in Kigali, Rwanda, with a passion for spreading the gospel and empowering future leaders. In partnership with Multiply International, Bonnie is launching a training center focused on equipping church planters, missionaries, and disciple-makers. This center will serve as a powerful launching pad for leaders across East Africa, shaping them to plant churches, create disciples, and engage their communities with the message of Christ.

From Passion to Resilience: Bonnie’s Journey

Bonnie’s journey has been one of determination and faith. Starting his ministry by planting 40 churches in six years, Bonnie demonstrated an exceptional commitment to God’s work. When a promised scholarship for Bible school fell through, he didn’t let that stop him. Instead, he worked multiple jobs, gaining skills in digital marketing and hospitality management to fund his education. This blend of training has made him a well-rounded leader, capable of teaching others not only the foundations of faith but also practical skills to support their ministries.

The Training Center: A Forge for East African Leaders

The upcoming training center is more than a facility—it’s a forge, where future church leaders and missionaries will be refined and equipped. They’ll be immersed in Scripture, trained in the principles of discipleship, and learn practical skills to launch sustainable ministries. Just as a tree needs deep roots to withstand strong winds, these leaders will leave the center ready to minister in any environment with resilience, wisdom, and strength.

Empowering Leaders Economically

Bonnie’s vision extends beyond the walls of the church. Recognizing that economic empowerment is essential for sustainable ministry, he currently mentors 14 entrepreneurs, guiding them with the MIT business model to build ventures that will support both their families and the church. The training center will provide similar resources, equipping leaders with the tools they need to create self-sustaining ministries. This is an essential part of Bonnie’s approach, blending spiritual growth with economic stability.

With his wife, Solange—a compassionate counselor and advocate for families—by his side, Bonnie embodies a beautiful mix of strength, vision, and humility. Together with their daughters, Precious and Joy, they are rooted in faith, resilience, and a deep love for God’s people.
