NIYITEGEKA JEAN MARIE VIANNEY

pastor BIOGRAPHY

My name is Niyitegeka Jean Marie Vianney. I was born in 1970 in the former commune of Gikoro in Rwamagana district in Musha sector. I am married with 5 Children. I received Jesus as my lord and saviour at 18 years old. It was in August 1988. When I got saved I stopped the bad manners I had. I was violent to people and cheated them. But I recieved Jesus in my life. I felt the calling upon my life to serve God full-time in 1989. Below is my journey 1989 I was ministered in Ruhita where there in Ntunga area 1990 I went to work in Rutoma 1992 I was sent to school to study theology in Ndera where the genocide happened and stopped my education to progress well. Which I later resumed and studied for three years to complete my diploma. 1994 I began to work in Ntunga when it was still small. 1996 I went to serve in Duha but it did not perform well so it was stopped. 1998 Then i went to Gahengeri. 2000 I was ordained as a pastor. In 2010, I was sent to Murehe, which had spent one year without a leader because people never used to like to come to this location because of the high poverty levels there. I served faithfully in this location for 10 years. After this success story I was sent to start a new church area called Rusasa. I officially started its activities and have been bringing christians together here. This is where I am at the moment and I have a passion to teach and disciple new christians. Thanks

RWANDA

LOCATION

Rusas is in the Western Province of Rwanda, within the Karongi District. More precisely, this spot falls near the Rubengera Sector, a notable area in the district known for its beautiful scenery, agriculture, and local markets. Rubengera is one of the key sectors in Karongi, positioned close to Lake Kivu and surrounded by the region’s characteristic rolling hills and valleys.  is a rural area in Rwanda known for its scenic beauty and predominantly agricultural lifestyle, characteristic of many regions in the country. Located in the Western Province, Rusasa is part of a densely populated rural community where agriculture, particularly subsistence farming, serves as the backbone of daily life and local economy. Like much of rural Rwanda, Rusasa faces significant challenges related to poverty, with limited access to essential services such as healthcare, education, and clean water. Poverty rates are high, and many households rely on small plots of land to grow staple crops like maize, beans, and bananas. Medical access in Rusasa is limited; although Rwanda has made significant strides in healthcare accessibility in recent years, rural areas like Rusasa still have few medical facilities, and common health issues such as malaria, respiratory infections, and malnutrition remain prevalent. Demographically, the population in Rusasa is young, with a high proportion of children and youth, reflecting Rwanda’s overall demographic trend. Economic opportunities are limited, with wealth distribution skewed toward urban centers, leading many young people to migrate to cities in search of better prospects. Despite these challenges, Rusasa is home to a resilient and tightly knit community with a strong cultural identity, where traditional values and cooperative efforts are integral to everyday life.
